December 18, 2004 -- A new, cost-effective automatic hot air overlap welding machine for use with flexible thermoplastic membranes such as banners, billboards, roofing materials, pool covers, tarps, tents and related products is being introduced by Malcom Hot Air Systems of Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

Malcom's Leister UNIPLAN Overlap Welding machine features the precise control of all welding parameters including temperature, airflow and speed; with the set and actual values presented on a digital LCD display. Small, lightweight and simple to operate, this automatic overlap welding machine produces consistent, wrinkle-free welds at speeds up to 25 FPM.

Featuring steplessly controlled heating and airflow up to 1,150 degrees F and 11 CFM, respectively, Malcom's Leister UNIPLAN Overlap Welding Machine can be set up for both 3/4" and 1-1/4" overlap welds. Incorporating an integrated trolley attachment for added speed and accuracy on big jobs, the machine measures 16.5" long x 10.6" width x 8.5" height, weighs 26.5lbs. and operates on 120/130 VAC.
